Frequently
asked questions
Is GifChat free?
Yes. GifChat is free to download on iPhone and free to chat with. Some extras, like face packs and animated borders, are bought in the app.
How does a GIF message work?
Type what you want to say. GifChat picks a GIF that answers the line and puts your words on it, and that is the message your friend gets. Swipe to try another GIF before you send.
Which GIFs does it use?
GIFs from the packs you turn on, plus your own GIFs and photos. Turn packs on and off any time; the GIFs that fire come from the ones that are on.
Can I change how the words look?
Yes. Pick one of seven caption looks, from one clean line to comic speech balloons, or Shuffle to get a different one each time.
What is a face pack?
A set of character GIFs made again with one face you choose, as a private pack only you have. You need the person's permission to use a face that is not yours.
Can I use GifChat on the web?
Yes. Open gifchat.app and sign in with your GifChat account. Purchases are made in the iPhone app.
How do I cancel a subscription?
On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then GifChat. Cancelling stops the next charge and you keep what you paid for until the period ends.
Can I get a refund?
Purchases are paid through Apple, so refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something on our side went wrong, email support too and we will help.
