Fake text story generator

A fake text story generator writes the conversation for you: two people, a hook, an escalation and a twist, laid out as a phone chat. GifChat writes the story and then finishes the job, turning it into a vertical video with a real GIF reaction on each message, two AI voices, captions, and sound effects mixed in.

The studio needs a GifChat account, which you create in the iPhone app.

Four ways to get a story

Surprise me invents the whole story in one tap: the premise, both characters and the tone. If you do not like it, ask for another one. Write a scenario takes a sentence from you, such as "my roommate keeps eating my food and blaming the cat", plus a tone, an optional setting, and a name and short description for each person. Debate has two people argue one topic, at a heat level you pick, from winding each other up over nothing to a fight that actually matters to both. Start from a picture builds the story around a real photo or clip you pick, which then opens the video.

What the generator writes

The script opens mid-tension rather than on a greeting, escalates, and turns near the end. Each message is tagged with an emotion, and that tag is what the voices use later, so a shocked line is read shocked and a sarcastic one is read flat. You choose the tone: Funny, Sarcastic, Dramatic, Romantic, Wholesome, Chaotic, Aggressive or Chill, or type your own.

From story to finished video

A text story on its own is a screenshot. GifChat puts a GIF reaction beside every message, picked from the GIF packs you choose for each person so it answers the line it sits next to. It reads both sides with AI voices from a library of more than 20, adds captions, and lays the chat over a background: the clean GifChat chat, Minecraft parkour, Minecraft 2, Subway Surfers, or a video or image of your own. Videos can be written in English or Romanian.

How to make one with GifChat

  1. Get the app and create your account

Accounts are made in the GifChat iPhone app. Every new account gets 3 free minutes of video, once.

  2. Pick how the story starts

Surprise me, Write a scenario, Debate or Start from a picture. If you already wrote the chat yourself, use Paste a script instead.

  3. Shape the characters

In Write a scenario, give both people a name and, if you like, a line about what they are like. Small details, like "never admits he is wrong", change how the whole chat plays out.

  4. Choose a length

30 seconds, 1 minute or 2 minutes. Minutes are counted by the length of the finished video, so a 30-second story uses half a minute.

  5. Pick voices, GIF packs and a look

Each person needs a voice and at least one GIF pack. Then choose a background, one of 9 caption styles (or customize your own) and one of 8 caption looks.

  6. Generate and download

Rendering usually takes two to five minutes. You get a 1080x1920 MP4 with voices, reactions, captions and sound already mixed.

Tips

  • Write the scenario as a conflict, not a topic. "Roommates" gives the AI nothing to work with; "she found out he cancelled on her to go to his ex's party" gives it a story.
  • Start at 30 seconds while you find out what your audience reacts to, then move to a minute for stories that need a proper turn.
  • Give the two people different personalities. Two characters who sound the same make the chat hard to follow.
  • Keep it fictional. Do not use real people's names, photos or likeness.

Questions

Is the story written by AI?

Yes, in Surprise me, Write a scenario, Debate and Start from a picture. You set the situation, tone and characters; the AI writes the messages. If you want every word to be yours, use Paste a script.

Can I use my own script instead?

Yes. Paste a script takes one message per line in the format Name: message, with exactly two names, up to 3,000 characters. GifChat then adds the voices, reactions and captions.

How long can a story be?

Generated stories are 30 seconds, 1 minute or 2 minutes. A pasted script runs as long as the script needs, estimated from its length before you generate.

What does it cost?

Every account gets 3 free minutes once. After that, plans are bought in the iPhone app: Starter 20 minutes a month for $19.99, Creator 65 minutes for $49.99, Pro 200 minutes for $99.99.

Which languages can the story be in?

English or Romanian. The script, the voices and the captions are all in the language you pick.
